CODED ORGANICS

In this project, I delve into the vast possibilities of computational modeling. By scripting organic growth, I aimed to further investigate the limits of food design.

To bring the growth simulation to life, I began with a two-dimensional drawing constructed from a poly-line. By setting a looped loft that ascends vertically during the active simulation, form gradually emerges from the script. Furthermore, to capture the essence of this organic form, I opted for its representation within a fundamental cubic structure. This is accomplished by employing a Grasshopper script that voxelizes the form, transforming it into a cohesive cubic mass.

Employing the growth simulation technique, I seamlessly projected the two-dimensional polyline onto a primitive cube, breathing life into its flat dimensions. To achieve this, I delved into the intricacies of the python code driving the simulation, enabling the poly-line to wrap itself around the planes of the cube.
