SOCIAL DIGEST

Despite its fundamental importance to our lives, food is often reduced to a mere functional necessity. We eat to sustain ourselves, without much thought given to the sensory and social aspects of our meals. However, food has the power to connect us with our cultural heritage, as well as with each other, in unique and meaningful ways. In this regard, there is a missed opportunity to let what we eat dictate how we interact with each other and the world around us.

Throughout this speculative design journey, I have sought to examine the role of food in social interaction by delving into themes such as form language, functionality, and aesthetics. One aspect of food that plays a significant role in its appeal is color. I have utilized vibrant and enticing colors, such as red and green, in my design process to evoke a sense of excitement and stimulate the appetite.

COVENANT

This food experience aims to stimulate participants' competitive nature through a unique form of interaction. Two individuals are provided with equal portions of food and must compete in consuming their half in order to win a brightly colored reward. The stark contrast in color draws participants in, triggering an incentive for excitement. Whoever finishes their half first is declared the winner and the other must stop eating entirely.

CATALYST

This food experience is designed to encourage social interaction and collaboration. Each participant plays a crucial role in the experience. Three individuals are tasked with simultaneously triggering an "event", which then divides the food form into three separate portions.
